Just three weeks after the launch of Tenant Connect at Horizon Commercial Realty's The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass, a 366,750 square feet outlet centre located outside Louisville, Kentucky, almost 70% of the retailers have downloaded the new mobile app, and they're just getting started.
Placewise's Tenant Connect is a mobile app that brings communication between landlords and retail tenants into the digital age, which is just what the team at The Outlets of the Bluegrass (OSBG) was looking for; a way to improve and streamline communication.
The centre-branded OSBG Connect mobile app features:
Tenant Contact & Information Directories - A single source of truth for all tenant contact information from local store managers to corporate level contacts. Access is manageable by user role.
Groups and Smart Groups - Organizes groups by use/merchandise category, location/suite #, or role.
Messaging - Email, SMS, & App push - Select the delivery method of messages and a single recipient, a group, or several groups. Messages may be sent immediately or scheduled in advance.
Document Library - Upload manuals, policies, and other important centre documents for easy updating and tenant access. Receive read confirmation on important documents.
Retail Content Collector - Tenant login for self-serve store information updates, promotional offers, centre employee offers and event information with admin publication approval.
Notifications & Emergency Alerts - Send emergency alerts to centre staff and stores
Employees News - Create and publish relevant news for tenants.
Employee Offers - Create, activate, and manage special centre employee-only offers
With the stage set for success, The OSGB app launch was anticipated with excitement by both the centre management team and the tenants.
The Marketing Director developed email outreach focusing on the benefits of the OSBG Connect app and the importance of using it, leading up to a centre visit by the Placewise support team to assist store employees with app download and onboarding. The percentage of tenants using the app grows as the centre marketing team follows up with remaining stores and employees.
There has never been a more critical time for retailers and property owners to work together as partners. Still, without the right tool, high associate turnover, irregular schedules, and demanding levels of responsibilities can make communication and support between a retailer's staff and the centre management team difficult, time-consuming, and ineffective.
